Over the past 3 1/2 years I tried using so many different creams on my feet and ankles which claimed to help eczema. Nothing ever really worked. Sanae Suzuki, who " is a Whole Health Macrobiotic Counselor, Flower Essences Practitioner, and Certified Therapeutic Massage Therapist for people and pets. She is a long-time student of Michio Kushi, world leader of Macrobiotic education." Sanae suggested I use SESAME OIL on my dry eczema-ravaged skin . I had known about the healing properties of sesame oil through Deepak Chopra for many years but did not think about using it on my eczema.
I find sesame oil to be soothing and softening for my dry skin. It also seems to prevent secondary infections which I was having often because of the scratching. SESAME OIL has been known as a healing oil for thousands of years and is used both externally and internally. I don't use the oil internally yet for my condition caused by Black Mold and Candida infection, but I do use it often on my eczema-damaged skin after soaking my feet in sea salt water (1 T per gallon of water).
I am now beginning to use it on my hair and body in a short massage before I shower because of the myriad of health benefits sesame oil provides. Whenever my skin begins to itch from dryness, I apply organic sesame oil.
If you have eczema or other health issues, research the healing properties of sesame oil and try it for yourself.

Miso Soup for Healing
I feel that MISO SOUP has been one of the keys to my healing from Eczema. I had tried a store-bought Miso Soup once and didn't like it. I learned from Sanae Suzuki who is Whole Health Natural Healing Counselor in Santa Monica, CA how to make Miso Soup the correct way. I found that it was wonderfully satisfying. I could almost feel it healing me. I felt I was finally "eating to live" instead of "living to eat". You can learn to cook with Sanae Suzuki's Cooking Classes.
Sanae suggested I make my Miso Soup with BARLEY MISO by Miso Master Organic. I found the 16 oz carton of Traditional soy paste - Premium Organic 2 year in the refrigerator section of a health food store in Santa Monica, CA. At first, I thought it expensive at $9.99, but it lasted me 6 weeks using it every day. When I got to Michigan, I could not find this brand and the clerks suggested to Certified Organic Three-year Barley MISO which is also very good.
Every morning, I heat 2 cups of spring water and simmer it for about 10 minutes with a 1-inch piece of KOMBU Sea Vegetable by Eden. I drink one cup of the tea and reserve the rest. About an hour later, I cut up about a Tablespoon each of 4 or 5 vegetables ( 2 root vegetables - carrot, daikon radish, turnip, parsnip, etc.) and a Tablespoon each of 2 or 3 other vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, scallions, leeks, celery, etc). I cook them on medium heat for 1-2 minutes and then ADD one or 2 tablespoons of Kale cut up in small pieces and cook for 1-2 minutes. Then, POUR ABOUT 2-3 TABLESPOONS OF THE HOT LIQUID in a bowl and ADD 1/2 tsp of MISO PASTE and dissolve it in the hot liquid. Then put this back in the pot and heat on low for one or two minutes. DO NOT BOIL THE MISO. I put it in a bowl (makes about one cup of Miso Soup). Sometimes I add a small amount of Gomashio (that I make from sesame seeds and sea salt). You can buy it in a health food store. The Miso Soup RECIPES are on pages 49 , 99 and 149 of LOVE, SANAE by Sanae Suzuki. Her Gomashio Recipe is on page 127.
I have made MISO soup every day for 7 weeks now. I feel this is one of the most important parts of my healthy eating which is curing my eczema.I

My Daily Healing Routine
After 6 weeks I am seeing my energy return and my feet healing from the eczema I have suffered with for 3 1/2 years. Generally, EVERY DAY I do these things:
1- Drink Kombu Tea
2- Drink Twig Tea
3- Make everything I cook using Kombu as the base
4- Soak all grains and beans overnight before cooking and ROAST all my grains before cooking them.
5- Eat MISO SOUP. ( I love it.)
6- Eat greens every meal (usually Kale as this is the one I like best)
7- Use mostly these vegetables so far: carrots, turnip, onion, garlic, daikon radish.
8- Eat either rice or barley every day
9- Eat adzuki bean, lentil or split pea soup every day
10- Vary grains & beans every other day
11-Walk daily
12- Soak feet in SEA SALT water 4-5 times a day to control itching
13- Use SESAME OIL on feet to keep the skin soft
14- Sleep 10 to 12 hours a night
15- Nap when tired
16- Listen to music, sing and dance. Watch uplifting movies & read.
17- Meditate & Pray
18- Play ball with my two goldens, Sami & Lexie
19- Occasionally, I have an apple with sea salt.
20. Occasionally, I go into Traverse City to shop for organic food and spend quiet time with my Aunt Carolyn to watch the Tigers baseball game and stay overnight.
21. I taught beading to my cousin, Marlo & her twin girls (12 1/2) last Sunday
22. I eat only when I am hungry. I rest when I am tired. My days are peaceful and I am loving the humidity of Michigan.
23. Occasionally, I visit my cousins, Lon & Kristie, 2 miles away and see my best friend, Shirley from Honor
I am loving the love and support of family, friends and the loving support from Keith who is working with holistic doctors and a Shaman in Costa Rica until Sep 15 when he will return to Denver before coming here. I love learning about the healing power of certain foods and how preparing them is so important for good health.
I suggest you get these books by my friends, Sanae & Eric. LOVE, SANAE LOVE ERIC & SANAE and LOVE, ERIC These are beautiful cookbooks.
I hope my healing path may help you.

What Didn't Work!
Over the 3 1/2 years that I suffered with eczema on my ankles and feet, I tried so many things that just did not work. Because my skin was scaly and itchy I thought that creams were the answer. My body was trying to rid itself of the toxins and almost every cream I put on was blocking the toxins from leaving my body.
The 1 percent cortisone creams helped the itching for a bit but when I stopped using cortisone (a steroid cream) my feet got even worse. I used Zinc Oxide ointment (for diaper rash) which helped the skin heal but blocked the release of toxins once again. It got all over my sheets, blankets and clothes.
I tried every over-the-counter "eczema" cream and nothing worked because eczema is an internal problem before it is a skin problem. I went to dermatologist and doctors and no one offered any cures... only "bandaid" treatments that didn't address the root cause of eczema. By June 22, 2014 my feet were so bad I could barely walk. I was in souther CA living in a 24 year old BLACK MOLD infested RV and getting worse by the day.

I had already eliminated sugar, processed foods, gluten, and dairy from my diet.
Therefore, it was just a small step to macrobiotics to finally have an effect on the eczema. I had purchased Sanae Suzuki's book,
Love, Sanae: Healing Vegan Macrobiotic Cooking, My Healing Journey
and her chef husband, Eric;s book, Love, Eric: Delicious Vegan Macrobiotic Desserts many years ago. I finally began studying them and learning how to prepare and eat healing foods instead of foods that were making me sick.
After only 5 weeks on the macrobiotic dietm, I am so much better. When my feet start to itch, I soak them in sea salt water (1 TBSP unrefined sea salt per gallon of lukewarm water) for about 20 minutes. The water is soothing and the salt heals the skin.
